Public Appearance: Ionia Community Library

Last night Charlie and I visited Ionia, MI to present a book talk at the Ionia Community Library. Sounds like a typical day in the life of the Real Heroes Read authors, but wait. There’s more.  The library sponsored our book talk, but the talk wasn’t held in the library.

It was held in the Ionia Theater—the MOVIE theater.

We presented on stage in front of a giant movie screen.  A blazing spotlight shone on stage.  Families filled the rows of seats below, watching, laughing, and munching popcorn.  Charlie and I felt like not only authors but rock stars as well.

After our presentation, everyone gathered in the lobby for a book signing.  Fans purchased autographed books and received free Petoskey stones from magnificent Lake Michigan.  Why Petoskey stones?  Because they’re the Michigan state stone, and Michigan is home to Heroes A2Z.  What better way to celebrate?  Moreover, Petoskey stones play a big part in bringing the dinosaurs back to life in our book Digging For Dinos.

What a great night! We connected with old fans (you know who you are!) and made new friends.  Special thanks to Sharon and Melissa for making our visit a success! You rock!

Real heroes read!
